For the first in our portrait series, we visit Nønne in her beautiful midcentury home, where her bold colour choices, carefully selected antiques and the original craftsmanship of the house come together. A home full of personality

For Nønne, home is more than simply a functional place to live. It is a home with something on its mind. Filled with colour, stories, antiques and things that have been allowed to stay. Nønne lives in a very special mid-century house, with a history that can still be felt throughout its rooms. A home she has gently made her own.

Many of the original details have been preserved. The old floors, woodwork and distinctive character of the house remain, living side by side with colourfull walls, art, books, furniture and objects collected over the years.

Perhaps that is exactly what makes Nønne’s home feel so special. Everything has been carefully chosen and considered. Each room reflects her eye for colour, detail and the things that matter to her.

Colour plays an important role and shifts from room to room. Together with the wood, the art and the original details of the house, they create a warmth you notice the moment you step inside.

The garden naturally finds its way indoors as well. Flowers, shades of green and the changing seasons become part of the rooms, reminding us that a home does not have to stand still. It can change quietly and naturally. Just as the garden does. A bouquet on the table. A new taper candle, lit as evening slowly draws in.
